Daria Birang
Born 1972, Boston, United States. Lives and works between Sicily and New York City. Daria Birang studied at the School of the Museum of fine Arts in Boston (US) and AKI, Academy for fine Arts in Enschede (The Netherlands), from which she holds a BFA. An artist of Dutch and Iranian origin, her work ranges from painting and collage to photo book making and from curation to art direction.
Over the years she has developed an obsession with photography, which grew into a practice of making books and exhibitions with some of the most recognized photographers working today. Her approach in editing and curating stems from her background in art and therefore is sometimes regarded as rather untraditional.
